Garwood Valley is located between the McMurdo Ice Shelf and
the majestic Ferrar Glacier. The valley presents and interesting thermokarst
feature, vestige of an ancient glacier, covered by debris. Using a LiDAR, my
coworker Marianne Okal, scanned the area and obtained a 3D map of the area.
La vallée de Garwood se situe entre la barrière de glace de
McMurdo et le majestueux Glacier de Ferrar. La vallée présente d’intéressantes
formations de thermokarst, vestige d’un ancien glacier, couvert de debris
rocheux. A l’aide d’un LiDar, ma collègue Marianne Okal, a scanné la topographie
de la vallée, afin de créer une carte en 3 dimensions.
